Participating in girls’ football at Wolverhampton Olympic-
If you are the parent or guardian of a potential footballer who would like to take their first steps into football, then we have two options which do not involve committing to a team, that you can be involved with-
Option one:
Select an age-appropriate team at the club and complete our contact form to request attending a training session. As we are limited on age groups, teams do also allow girls who are in an age group below to attend training, and if suitable, join the team. If you enjoy your experience, you can talk to the manager or coach about possible opportunities, continuing with attending training or waiting lists.
Option two (available from September 2025):
Take part in our girls’ academy. This is aimed at younger girls between from school years 3-5. This is designed to be a non-competitive, fun environment, with a focus on mastering basic and intermediate footballing skills, along with also providing small sided game opportunities. This also acts as a talent pool within the club to set up new girls’ teams and provide more opportunities for playing football within the local area.
Joining a girls’ team at Wolverhampton Olympic
Places within girls’ teams are in great demand, but on occasions places do become available due to either players leaving or expansion in squad sizes due to game progression. If you wish to enquire about availability or joining a waiting list then please complete the contact form stating which team would be suitable for your daughter and we will be in touch regarding the next steps. We are always looking to start new teams, if you, or someone you know is interested then please read the section below.
Starting a new girls’ team at Wolverhampton Olympic
Opportunities for girls to play for teams within the local Northwest Wolverhampton area are very limited. To support this, we are always looking to start new girls’ teams to compliment our existing teams. Should you be interested in volunteering to support this you can find out more information on our Starting a Team page. This page outlines what is required to set up a new team, and how the club supports you in this process and beyond. If you are interested in this amazing opportunity to provide more footballing opportunities with the Wolverhampton area then please take a look and contact us if you wish to take the next step.
